Grace Marshall - Tuesday, September 26, 2017
She watched him play
Toy with the girls’ emotions
And she remembered
All those days that she, too
Believed all the twisted lies
And there was an ache in her
Spilling out from her heart
Because she had so wanted
All those lies to be true
She'd loved him so deeply
She had assumed, erronously
That he loved her back
That things were different
With her and him than others
That she was special to him
But as she watched him
Go through lover after lover
She realized they all thought
That they were special to him
But none of them were
And as she watched him
She knew that he was losing
Because he didn't love
And he'd forgotten how it felt
To be honestly in love
Grace Marshall - Tuesday, August 22, 2017
There was a rush in her heart
A flush upon her cheeks
A surge that shot through her
As his hand clasped hers
It was a new, fresh love
And it sent tingles across her skin
She hoped this would last
That this was only the beginning

She didn’t find peace with crowds
Or in mind-numbing activities
Or sitting restfully by herself
She found it wrapped in his arms
She'd tried so hard, so many times
And it had all seemed futile
She'd looked so far for comfort
And it had eluded her again and again
And then he was suddenly there
And she didn't know it at first
But she couldn't win until she stopped
Stopped trying and stopped fighting

She had an effervescent smile
Tonight was finally the night
She could feel it in the air
And see the love in his eyes

I can’t believe
That you’d sacrifice
I thought you’d leave
When your love
Was put to the test
You stayed
You are the best
You were willing
To give so much
For worthless me
My heart you did touch

"Don't Let Me Go"
Grace Marshall - Tuesday, March 28, 2017
You take my inhibitions and fears away
Drown my protest with kisses
Change the darkness to the light of day
How can I bear to miss this
Take me away from here
Steal me away from life
So these things I don't see or hear
Pull me from this strife
Yes, that what I desire
To be stolen away by you
Stolen from all the hurt and fire
Able to get lost in all you do

Something strong
Something lasting
Quickens my blood
And carries my feet
Something sensational
Something desirable
Fills my dreams
And lightens my stride

Grace Marshall - Tuesday, March 07, 2017
Fear followed
Her train of thoughts
When she realized
Her moments
Were spent daydreaming
Only of him
He could drench her
With worry and dread
Or love and hope
With a solitary look

"Daydreaming"
Grace Marshall - Tuesday, February 21, 2017
Spinning in a frenzy
I can barely see
You’re all I need
All I want to be
To be near
To be close
To be loved
To be held
Don’t leave me alone
Don’t ever be away
I need you forever
I need you to stay
To stay here
To stay whole
To stay safe
To stay strong
~Grace Marshall
Poem "Love Forever"
Grace Marshall - Tuesday, December 13, 2016
Something simple
Something tantalizing
Lingers on my mind
And dances on my lips
Something special
Something unique
Beats in my heart
And prances in my eyes
Something strong
Something lasting
Quickens my blood
And carries my feet
Something sensational
Something desirable
Fills my dreams
And lightens my stride
Something sweet
Something unforgettable
Reminds me to live
And gives me a song
~"Something Love"
